Welcome to the Peacock Revolution

There is a war going on. A war against machoism. What is machoism? Machoism, as defined by myself, is the belief that in order to be a man in today's society one should be a dirty, grungy, obtuse, hairy, bare-knuckle dragging, neandertal. No more! I am declaring war on machoism. This blog will forge a revolution. A Peacock Revolution!

Join me in the battle against bad fashion!

Treats and A Trip!

Salutations stylish ones,

So Monday I was off (Due to MLK day YAY!) of work and decided to go to Disney and play in the parks.  No, I'm not rich, I work for them so the least they can do is let me in for free.  Anywhoo, I decided to make some brownies to take with me.  I was a little nervous on how they would turn out, because sometimes everything doesn't turn out right in the kitchen, but all went well...

I made two different batches of brownies. First, I made chewy fudge brownies.

Then, I topped them with whipped vanila icing.

Ta-da! Here they are! This batch I wanted to have more of a chewy texture, so I used only two eggs.

For my second batch, I made milk chocolate brownies.

And topped them with whipped milk chocolate icing.

Here they are. Don't they look yummy. For this set, I used three eggs. As a result, these brownies were fuller giving them more of a cake texture.

Off to the park I go, right along with my roadie Avery...

I really love visiting the park from time to time, but not too often. I don't want to become bored with it. If that's even possible.

Cinderella's castle is simple beautiful and is a spectacular site in person.

Avery looking absolutely adorable! I loved the shirt she had on. It was from Forever 21. I might have to take it from her LOL.

The park was fun, but there were a little too many people for my taste. Especially over at Hollywood Studios, so me and Avery ditched the place after watching Beauty and the Beast. Love that show!

Now on to the outfit...

I was definitely going for a jockey prep look. A bit of signature Ralph Lauren.

I love these pants, but sometimes they can be a bit annoying. For example, the buttons keep popping open. I am going to replace them with hooks.  Thank goodness for the belt.

Because it was a little cool, I layered my favorite white polo over a green thermal. I also twisted my hair so I was able to fit a hat on top of my big head.

Shirt: Ralph Lauren
Thermal: Forever 21
Pants: Forever 21
Boots: Matisse
Hat: American Eagle

Well that was a pretty fun day, but all good things must come to an end,

Trip to Port Charlotte

Greetings style icons,

What's going on?  Nothing much on my end, so I decided to hop a ride to Port Charlotte with my good friend Avery.  I don't get to travel that often with the being poor and all, but I felt I deserved a little time off...

Port Charlotte is a small quaint little town where my other friend Tiffany lives.  We decided to go visit her and get away from Orlando.

Giving a little prep this go-around.  I twisted my hair the previous night, so I could finally wear one of my hats.

I got these sailor inspired pants from Forever 21.  The sailor front pant is one of my favorite styles of pant.  Of course they don't hardly make too many pants with this type of opening.

Apologies for the cutoff pics. My room is junkie and this was the only place I could find that didn't have clutter.  Of course I still had the problem of where to set up the camera.

I ended up ditching my glasses.  I wear them enough.

Port Charlotte, though scenic and beautiful, had a surprising amount of old people.  Oh well at least it was extremely quiet. LOL

Hat: Target
Shirt: Zara
Blazer: Sashimi
Trousers: Forever 21
Glasses: Aldo
Bracelets: Assorted vendors in Miami

I really need to travel more,

Ringing in the New Year!

Happy New Year stylish ones,

It's 2012 and I'm leaving everything in 2011 in the past behind me.  It was a rocky year with a few ups and a lot of downs.  Oh well life moves on and so do I.  Time to let this be the year of positive change and new beginnings.

Here are a few of my New Year's Resolutions:

  • Start working out and get in shape. (I may look it, but I'm soooo out of shape)
  • Cut down on my alcoholic consumption. (or either start drinking wine instead ;-)
  • Stop cursing so much. (I dropped too many f-bombs last year)
  • Save up for a better quality camera. (because my pictures for this blog look like crap)
  • Get a better paying job. (because that camera above isn't going to pay for itself)
  • Start doing volunteer work. (I love helping others)

My newest addition: A snake ring from H&M.

I also got this bracelet from H&M as well.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Shirt: Zara

Capture that Item: Feather Headband

Greetings style mavens,

So, I was back on one of my fave online shopping sites of all time- ASOS.  Of course right now I can't afford anything :*-(  (that's me with a tear by the way).  I came across this FLY ass headband.  Now normally I don't wear too many headpieces as most of them are a little too feminine for my taste, and ever since I cut my hair I have been in terrible need of something to do with my hair until it grows to a length I can do something to it...

Her Curious Nature Tweed Antler Alice Band
Retail: $96
Direct Link: Asos.com

I absolutely am in love with this headband.  I would totally wear this out and it would give my hair the spice it needs.  There's just one problem.  It's too expensive :-(
Ok brief summary: Made primarily of 100% wool tweed this headband features a gold tone stag head, draped metal chains, and two amazing feather antlers.

The feathers alone are good enough to get me to buy it but the stag head and tweed patch have me absolutely drooling over here. *wipes mouth*  The tweed and the stag lend this otherwise girly piece just the right amount of masculinity for me to pull it off.

Now if only I had someone to purchase it for me...

Din-Din with the Friends!

Greetings Fashionable Ones,

Back again heh, heh, (crickets). Sooooo, anyway I have been meaning to post. I have just been too lazy. Hey! Don't judge me.

So me and Friends had went to dinner recently at this chic hotel restaurant the other day to discuss business.  The setting was beautiful, reminding me of a plush garden.  However they did have a lot of themes going on at this hotel, one minute it's hawaiian-esq, the next I get a Japanese sushi restaurant, then they are switching over to Bollywood with Indonesian parasols.  Oh well needless to say I had to dress it up...

The restaurant had a beautiful setting outside for us to take pictures.

It was a little nippy that day. (well not really, but I just wanted to wear my cape)
I paired this pretty green thermal I got from Forever 21with my trusty grey high waist shorts.

I jazzed up the look with one of my scarves, and finished the look off with my over-the-knee socks and combat boots.  It's a militant chic look.

Thermal: Forever 21
Shorts: Forever 21
Scarf: Target
Boots: Urbanog.com
Socks: Russell Athletic
Cape: Asos.com
Belt: Target

It really was a beautiful restaurant and I had a great time with Noosie, Dee, and Dex!
Til next post,
Dismissed!
