Welcome to the Peacock Revolution

There is a war going on. A war against machoism. What is machoism? Machoism, as defined by myself, is the belief that in order to be a man in today's society one should be a dirty, grungy, obtuse, hairy, bare-knuckle dragging, neandertal. No more! I am declaring war on machoism. This blog will forge a revolution. A Peacock Revolution!

Crazy Weeks!

Greetings mavens of style,

These past few weeks have consisted of crazy projects and finals, but today is the last final. Geesh, one week of rest and it will start all over again. Anywho, I have some pics that I never got to post. It was just a typical day, so I threw some items together...

This is a relatively simple outfit seeing as it was just a typical day of school. The ensemble consists of a t-shirt, jeans, and oxfords.

Of course I had to jazz this puppy up with some accessories. A pearl necklace, pearl cluster ring and a white camellia.

It is something about oxfords that make me want to stroll down an English countryside as butterflies effortlessly float around me.

Shirt: Forever 21
Jeans: Armani Exchange
Pearl Necklace: Nordstrom
Pearl Cluster Ring: Forever 21
Oxfords: Cole Haan
Camellia: local hair store

Oh well, let me get back to studying.

Dinner with the Crew

Greetings stylish ones,

Recently, I went out to dinner with Shanequa, Dexter, and Dawanna. Every once in a while the four of us will get together and chat over dinner. This time Dexter was the one to plan the nights venue at Cheesecake Factory. Needless to say, we had a fantastic night. When we first got there and was waiting for a table, some rude woman thought it was cool to sit on Shanequa's hip and didn't say excuse me. HER HIP FOR GOODNESS SAKE!! Are you serious?! Who does that? Of course that upset me and I said some choice words.

Our waiter was a tad bit on the extra side, but he was great though. Of course, we almost got off to a rocky start with him because he called all of us ladies twice. It didn't bother me that he confused me with being a chick (especially when you see my outfit), I get that alot unfortunately. However, what almost set me off was the fact that he thought Dexter was a girl, especially after the second time.

We finally got our table and Dawanna was EXTRA fashionably late. Beating me at my own game...

Dawanna and Shanequa. Simply Gorgeous!

Shanequa was stunning sporting a pastel pink, white and neutral(pumps) color palette. Heffa! Always trying to compete with me! LOL. Love ya girl!

Dawanna was adorable in a tried-and-true red and white outfit.

Me and Dexter had the girls rolling with laughter. He is so crazy.

Of course there was me. You know I had to be extra. Me and Shanequa saw the hat at Urban Outfitters. I almost didn't get it because I thought it was regular priced. However, Shanequa convinced me to grab it and check the price. Good thing I did, seeing as how it was on sale for $9.99. Dang what a deal! I will have to take Shanequa along shopping with me more often. LOL

I picked up the most adorable owl ring at Forever 21. I named him Harold. Isn't he adorable.

This outfit harkens back to the time of Superfly. Chic blazer, high-waist bellbottoms, and dare I say- pimp hat! LMBO!

Damn, I love this hat!!

At the end of the night we had a great time. The food was extra delicious, and the cheesecake was heavenly.

And the Verdict is...

Greetings fellow mavens of style,

Last week I had jury duty. I was kind of excited and kind of shocked seeing as how I only lived here in Orlando for two years. It was my very first time so I was kind of nervous and kind of anxious. So you know what the big question on my mind was: "What am I going to wear?!"

Since it would obviously be held in a courtroom, I knew I had to be professional but with my own elements to stay true to my style. So I grabbed a few items the night before and when it was time to go, I was ready...

It was pretty simple: throw in a crisp button down, a sleek vest, a solid pair of jean trousers, an ever-so-slim tie, and cinch the waist with a belt. The perfect formula for a day on the panel.

I somehow managed to put this crazy curl in my head that stuck out and wouldn't stay down. I love the pop of color that the tie gives the outfit.

The look bears a resemblance to the attire seen on Mad Men. Only not nearly as expensive and wonderful.

Oh, I almost forgot my ring. Picked this little number up at Banana Republic. The color of the stone is to die for.

Shirt: Express
Tie: Armani Exchange
Vest: Express
Ring: Banana Republic
Trousers: Banana Republic
Belt: Target

Jury duty was a blast. I don't know why people don't really like it. Then again there were a number of factors contributing to my experience. All in all I would love to do it again.

We the jury find the defendant- STYLISH!!!
