Welcome to the Peacock Revolution

There is a war going on. A war against machoism. What is machoism? Machoism, as defined by myself, is the belief that in order to be a man in today's society one should be a dirty, grungy, obtuse, hairy, bare-knuckle dragging, neandertal. No more! I am declaring war on machoism. This blog will forge a revolution. A Peacock Revolution!

Join me in the battle against bad fashion!

Get the Look: Caped Crusader

Warmest greetings style experts,

Today is a Get the Look day.  I haven't done one of these in a while.  For this one, I browsed some of the recent collections and came across this daring look from Alexander McQueen Fall 2011...

The look is comprised of a cape jacket, simple white t-shirt, skinny jeans, and combat boots, captain's hat (optional).  Let's take this one step-by-step.  *image appears courtesy of http://www.gq.com/*

Step 1: Simple t-shirt

The t-shirt can be any color and any cut. For the most part it will be covered by the cape.  This t-shirt can be found at http://www.asos.com/ for only $30.

Step 2: Skinny Jeans

Step 3: Combat Boots

These boots are just too phenomenal for words! They are called brogue boots. Half brogue, half boot, all chic. These beauties cost $102 and can be found on http://www.asos.com/.

Step 4: Cape

Optional Step: Captain's Hat

Well you never know what the occasion may call for.  In any case, always come prepared.  This captain's hat can be found on http://www.soviet-power.com/detail.php?pid=408 for $35.

Well, that concludes another episode of Get the Look,

Salutations oh stylish ones,

Today calls for another Low Impact Look.  This time it is about this lovely feather brooch I spotted on http://www.netaporter.com/.  I love brooches.  They add a certain amount of elegance to any ensemble, whether it be a simple blazer or a sequinned blouse...

Erickson Beamon Barbie sterling silver-plated feather brooch.  Retailing for $1,180 this lovely is decorated with Swarovski crystals and demands attention.

Diamond Cubic Zirconia Feather Brooch.  This little one costs only $58.  Available at http://www.sears.com/

Silver Tone Clear Crystal Feather Brooch.  This simple-yet-stylish look can be found on http://www.amazon.com/ for $13.

Just like the boys!

Greetings stylish ones,

In an effort to come back to my boy roots, I have decided to switch the style up. (Just a little bit though)  I still want to do androgyny; however, more from a guy's aspect.  Not sure if that makes sense but the pics will clarify...

I even cut off all my hair to get the ball rolling. LOL Just kidding. I cut my hair so I can regrow it naturally. I want a HUGE afro!

So this is my first attempt at adrogyny- the guy's way.

The plan is to have my basic items be that of menswear.  For example, my shirts and pants will be guy items and my accessories will be a combination of both men and women items.

I picked this ring up at Forever 21 for only $4. Awesome!

Hat: American Eagle
Shirt: Gift from friend
Vest: Target
Shorts: Forever 21
Ring: Forever 21
Arm Bracelet: Gift from Shanequa
Boots: Urbanog.com

All in all I think my first day dressing as a boy again was a success! LOL

Capture that Item: Green Boats

Greetings style cravers,

Today, I'm doing another "Capture that Item" post (this is fun).  This time it is from Cole Haan.  Seriously, I swear I'm obsessed with them!!  Anywho, I stumbled across these lovely green boaters...

Cole Haan Air Yacht Club Boat.  Retailing for $148, this isn't a bad price for a cute good quality shoe.

It also doesn't hurt that the shoe is Emerald green, my favorite shade of green.  Of course the name of the color on the website is Amazon green.

The shoe comes in other colors as well if green is not your thing.  This color in particular is called Chili Pepper.

Visit the Cole Haan website if you want to grab a pair of these lil beaut's.

*sigh* I'm in love with Cole Haan...

Capture that Item!

Salutations stylish ones,

Today, I'm introducing another new topic or category.  This one will be called "Capture that Item".  Let me explain.  This will feature one item that I must have or long for to be in my inventory.  Sometimes it will be costly, sometimes it will be affordable, however, it will always be fashionable.

Now with that being said, on to the item in question...

Winter Kate Jasmine Komono Jacket in Velvet Burnout.  This is one of those expensive items retailing for $407.  However, it is sooooo worth the price.

The fabric is a silk velvet burnout that features a paisley print.  The paisley print combined with the velvet just screams 70's retro. Maybe that is why I love it so much.

The model is really selling this Kimono to me. I love it.

Well this was very successful. I look forward to more captures.

Low Impact Look: Striped Cardigan

Greetings ever-so-stylish ones,

Today I'm doing my first ever Low Impact Look.  "What is that?!" you say.  Well it is simply my version of "the look for less".  I just named it that to give it a military feel. LOL

Anywhoo, I was looking and longing on Net-A-Porter, when I came across this handsome cardigan...

Oscar de la Renta Cashmere and silk blend Cardigan.  Retailing for $1,790 this little beauty just might break the bank. LOL

Here are some low cost alternatives...

NW3 By Hobbs Pryors Striped Cardigan. This beauty can be found over at Asos for only $142.

G-Star Correct Striped Cardigan. I love this cardigan red and white are two colors that compliment each other well. This bad boy retails for $160.

What do you guys think?
