Welcome to the Peacock Revolution

There is a war going on. A war against machoism. What is machoism? Machoism, as defined by myself, is the belief that in order to be a man in today's society one should be a dirty, grungy, obtuse, hairy, bare-knuckle dragging, neandertal. No more! I am declaring war on machoism. This blog will forge a revolution. A Peacock Revolution!

Bad @$$

Greetings stylish ones,

Me and Shanequa decided to take some time off work and do some browsing.  And by browsing I mean light shopping.  This time we decided to visit Nordstrom Rack to see what kinds of goodies we can find for the low...

It was still a little cold, so I made sure to grab a light jacket.

As always, I got on my trustee bad boy boots.

This was a cute lace overlay wifebeater that I found at H&M a couple of days earlier.  The necklace is my long black bead necklace.  I just wrapped it around my neck and closed it, so it would look different.  I love my pose in this pic.  I think I will dub myself the "black" Ken doll. LOL

Wifebeater: H&M
Skinny Jeans: Express
Anorak: H&M
Boots: Bucco
Necklace: Forever 21

I went to the Rack in the hopes that I would find some cute black riding boots. *sigh* The search ended with disappointment.  Oh well.

Blue Leather Biker

Greetings my dear stylish ones,

A while back my sister bought me a cute blue leather biker jacket.  I have been meaning to wear it, but simply haven't found the time or the appropriate weather.  Not until the weather here decided to go from hot to frost generating cold.  Oh well, I wanted cold weather, and now I got cold weather.  Time to suck it up and enjoy it.  One day I decided to go out with some friends, and I threw this cute little ensemble together...

Without the jacket the outfit would have looked like pajamas.  Once added, the look became comfort with a hint of bad.

Adding the cutoff gloves really added to the biker chic effect.

Ok. The reason why I have such a crazy look on my face is because I sat my fat ass on the table and broke the glass of one of the built-in picture frames. Oops.

These boots, these boots.  What can I say about these boots?  Except that I LOVE them.  I have gotten so many compliments.  Best part is that I got them from endless.com for around $64.

Beret: Aldo
Sweater: French Connection
Knit Pants: Forever 21
Necklace: Forever 21
Gloves: Claire's
Boots: Coconuts by Matisse

This outfit kept me pretty warm.

Show a Little Leg

Salutations stylish ones,

Ok remember earlier this week I wrote about D&G's fabulous Fall/Winter 2010 collection.  One of the significant points of the collection was adding a little summer sexiness to your wintery wardrobe featuring breezy knit shorts and bare legs lost in fur covered boots.  So, I went out shopping to see if I can get this look for the low.  I actually had some success and scored big time by hitting up Goodwill.  Take a look...

Their are a few suttle variances, but that is to make it my own.  The sweater was from Goodwill and all of the other items were already mine.

I love the fierceness of this pose. Can you say Facebook profile pic? LOL.  I added my lovely combat boots that I am obsessed with and a pair of cutoff gloves to give the outfit a hint of grunge.

Finally, I added a scarf to keep my neck warm and belted the waist for a more personal fit.  I topped the look off with some sunglasses in my hair-since I couldn't get those spectacular goggles :-(

Also, buying from Goodwill supports individuals and families that are in need. Yay! I did a good deed!

Sweater: Goodwill
Shorts: Love Culture
Boots: Overstock.com
Sunglasses: (random mall vendor)
Scarf: Gap
Gloves: Forever 21

It's good to give back.

D&G Fall 2010

Greetings fashion mavens,

So, I was browsing the runways for this fall's trends.  Suddenly, I came across the D&G Fall 2010 collection. This collection is awesome featuring printed knits, barely-there shorts, and big furry boots.  I don't know why I love this collection so much. Maybe it's the thought that the truely brave can show off their legs during the winter. Hmm...  Anyway, here are some of my favorite shots from the collection.

I LOVE this! A knit long-sleeve unitard! Who'd a thunk it?! LOL

Staying true to their ever sexy style, D&G added a little heat to this combination by revealing (ever so slightly) what appears to be a corseted mini.

This is a great way to go in your closet and dress up that dreadful Christmas sweater that your relatives might have foolishly purchased for you.  You know.  The one you NEVER worn, but was too nice of a person to throw it away.

The last two photos are added because they both give different looks to my present wardrobe of short shorts with jackets and dress shirts.  One has a leather motorcycle jacket.  This lends a rebel attitude to the ensemble.  The last one comes complete with a velvet blazer and vest giving this outfit a frigid equestrian vibe.  I heart this look.

Tune in to see if I can pull this look off.

Halloween 2010

Greetings mavens of style,

Last week was Halloween, and I went out with my girls Shanequa and Clorissa.  Needless to say, we had an awesome time just walking the streets.  Seeing all the amazing costumes always inspires me to take it to the next level for next year.  "What did I go as this year", you ask.  Well see for yourself...

I masqueraded as an Arabian Princess. I even added a little bit of eyeshadow.

Shanequa played the role of a Grecian Goddess. Fierce!

Clorissa was the fearsome Chun-Li!

This rowdy bunch of bunnies went around creating their own hype. Funny.

Sub-Zero and Chun-Li

Who would win in a fight? Chun-Li vs Katana. These two ladies are both my favorite fighters in their respective games.

This girl was serving up a large helping of FIERCE as femme fatale Katana from Mortal Kombat! She even outdid myself (not an easy task). LOL

I was super excited when we came across one of Chun-Li's fellow Street Fighters. This guy made for one HOT Vega! Love the claws.

The Sailor Moon crew. My girl could kick all their asses! LOL

Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbossa.

Harley Quinn. This chick was awesome! I love the Batman head bucket.

A ghostbuster and the marshmallow monster(I think). I think these guys were a couple. I love it when couples and groups do the same theme.

I loved how this guy blankely stared at us as we danced on the street. Way to really commit to the character of Jason. Nice accessories.

Chun-Li with her fellow country women. Unless these girls were geishas, then that would be Japan.

Mileena...

...and the rest of the Mortal Kombat crew including Ermac, Kano, and Scorpion. (That Scorpion was pretty hot!) LOL

This had to be the real Spiderman. I mean this guy climbed walls and hung from ledges!!

I'm not sure what this chick was(probably a female barbarian), but I do know her body was FREAKIN SICK!!

Spiderman and Scorpion wall climbing! See what happens when you let people dress up in costumes and roam the streets! LOL.

Whew! What a fun night that was. I can't wait until next year. Hmmm...wonder what I'll be.
*also to see more pics from the night-head on over to Fashion Pad and check out the pics Shanequa took*

Dressy Knits

Greetings mavens of style,

I'm off to school to hopefully get some work done and catch up on my studies.  I was in the mood to dress up a little bit; however, I didn't want to over do it.  I decided that maybe I should undergo the challenge of making this awesome pair of pajama-looking pants that I have look "slightly" formal.  Maybe pair it with a short-sleeve button down and obnoxiously large bow tie...

\

Even though they are not really pajama pants they, however, give the look of them.  Meaning if I paired them with a regular t-shirt, people would get the impression that I am dressing down, and this wasn't my goal for the day.

The bow tie was made for me by one of my friends/coworkers. She's amazing, and I love how large it is. I have always wanted an obnoxiously large bow tie.

The pants have ribbed cuffs allowing me to pull them up to just under the knee.  This gave them the look of harem pants, so I decided to pair them with my gladiators.

Shirt: H&M
Knit Pants: Forever 21
Gladiator Sandals: Love Culture
Bracelet: Pier 1
Bow Tie: Custom made by Charday

This wraps up this post.
