Welcome to the Peacock Revolution

There is a war going on. A war against machoism. What is machoism? Machoism, as defined by myself, is the belief that in order to be a man in today's society one should be a dirty, grungy, obtuse, hairy, bare-knuckle dragging, neandertal. No more! I am declaring war on machoism. This blog will forge a revolution. A Peacock Revolution!

Join me in the battle against bad fashion!

Capture that Item: Feather Headband

Greetings style mavens,

So, I was back on one of my fave online shopping sites of all time- ASOS.  Of course right now I can't afford anything :*-(  (that's me with a tear by the way).  I came across this FLY ass headband.  Now normally I don't wear too many headpieces as most of them are a little too feminine for my taste, and ever since I cut my hair I have been in terrible need of something to do with my hair until it grows to a length I can do something to it...

Her Curious Nature Tweed Antler Alice Band
Retail: $96
Direct Link: Asos.com

I absolutely am in love with this headband.  I would totally wear this out and it would give my hair the spice it needs.  There's just one problem.  It's too expensive :-(
Ok brief summary: Made primarily of 100% wool tweed this headband features a gold tone stag head, draped metal chains, and two amazing feather antlers.

The feathers alone are good enough to get me to buy it but the stag head and tweed patch have me absolutely drooling over here. *wipes mouth*  The tweed and the stag lend this otherwise girly piece just the right amount of masculinity for me to pull it off.

Now if only I had someone to purchase it for me...

Capture that Item: Cole Haan Tote

Greetings stylish mavens,

A couple of days ago, I was checking my email and I noticed an advertisement from one of my favorite brands: Cole Haan.  It was for the recent sale, so I decided to click on over and have a look.  While on the site, I came across this magnificent find...

Cole Haan Jitney Plaid Carley Tote
Retail: $150
I love the bag inside another bag look.  The plaid really pops against the cream.

As you can see it is a very large handbag, and we all know I LOVE obnoxiously big handbags.

The best part about this item is that it is on sale from $248.  A very nice deal might I add.

Koopa Troopa

Hello stylish entities,

Recently, I have been spotting a lot of people wearing aviator sunglasses, or as I affectionately call them "troops".  Now troops come in and out of style frequently, and it is no surprise that they have come back.  There are no better shades that compliment the military trend that everyone has been going crazy over.  I, on the other hand, make it a point to always own a nice pair no matter if they are in or out of style.  I think of troops as classics.

Lately I have been in need of a new pair of these wonderful things so I took to the web to browse around...

Victoria Beckham 18-karat rose gold mirrored aviators. $775 http://www.net-a-porter.com/
My my these are lovely *sigh* if only.

A slightly less expensive alternative.  Gucci Leather-coated aviator sunglasses. $495 at http://www.net-a-porter.com/

Carrera Champion Aviators. $141 at asos.com

ASOS Faux Leather Trim Aviators. $27. At this price these lovelies are a steal!

Well I'm off to do some damage,

Fashion Club: Fashion Show

Greetings stylish ones,

Back again updating you on my latest endeavors.  I haven't posted in a while due to the fact that this past quarter at school was very draining.  Then on top of that, I went back home for spring break where my parents still have dial-up. Seriously?!

Anywhoo, back while I was in school the Fashion Club hosted a "Back in Time" fashion show.  So you know me, I had to bring a little extra to the table...

I was feeling a little dark so I went for ominous masked person. LOL

The headwear was a DIY project. A friend gave me the peacock feathers, and I attached the black lace to it.

The scarf/shawl was another DIY project.  I just bought some green lace and sewed it together. Simple. However, I hated it the next day.

I belted the scarf/shawl to pull the look together and topped it off with my diva fan.

I couldn't get any pics of the outfits as the event took place at a nightclub and the lighting was poor.  But I will say that my fellow classmates are amazing and really talented. It was inspiring to see them succeed.

Headwear: DIY
Shirt: Express
Bowtie: Aldo
Scarf/Shawl: DIY
Jeans: Anchor Blue
Belt: Liz Claiborne
Gloves: Forever 21
Fan: Local Chinese Shop

Till next time,

Fold Down for a Surprise!

Greetings style mavens,

I come to you with just a few minutes. (Overwhelming school work!)  Anywhoo, I managed to steal a moment to update the blog.  I recently discovered this amazing website that goes by the name of urbanog.com.  I browsed through the website and discovered these amazing combat boots...

Sorry for the pixelated image.  I couldn't get the larger pic on the blog.  These boots are amazing!  They have a fold down flap that reveals a studded design.  The flap can be worn up to give the boots a casual feel.  Best part about these boots is the price: $30.90! For boots you can beat that!!

Head on over to http://www.urbanog.com/ to check this awesome website out.

Greetings o' ye mavens of style,

So for this spring, I'm all about the boho boy. I definitely want to continue this by embarking upon a quest for the latest accessories that echo this feeling.

This floral cutie retails for only $7.80. Head on over to Forever21.com to check it out.

Next, I headed on over to Asos...

Simply gorgeous. I want this headband so bad! It is a Grecian style gold leaf 3 strand headband. (phew, that was a mouthful). Anywhoo, it only costs $13.79.

Very nice leaf detail. View it up close at ASOS.

This is a winged version and only costs $7.76.

Breakfast Club Anyone?

Hello to all you stylish ones,

Recently, I was over at my favorite vintage website Modcloth, and I came across the cutest little hat.  Of course, I already have a hat somewhat similar to this one.  However, I was inspired to put together an outfit for class tonight by this hat.  Don't worry I'll take pics this time (I need a new facebook profile pic).

Here's the hat...

Isn't she a cutie! I'm talking about the hat (the model-she aiight!) LOL.  This little cutie retails for $39.99. A little pricey for my tastes.

Constructed out of felt wool and topped off with a cute satin bow, this hat is a must have for the vintage lover.

Finally, something that will excite me for both work and class tomorrow!
