Welcome to the Peacock Revolution

There is a war going on. A war against machoism. What is machoism? Machoism, as defined by myself, is the belief that in order to be a man in today's society one should be a dirty, grungy, obtuse, hairy, bare-knuckle dragging, neandertal. No more! I am declaring war on machoism. This blog will forge a revolution. A Peacock Revolution!

Get the Look: Drizzy Drake

Hello there style mavens,

So, I was browsing the web looking for male celebrities that have style, and I came across this pic of Drake over at johnjohnsaidit.com. This led me to do a "get the look" post.  Shanequa does these a lot over at FashionPad and they are always very exciting to me. Without further procrastination, here is my first "Get the Look".

The look consists of a red wine cardigan, a white t-shirt, and relaxed fit jeans. A casual but stylish look. Let's take it step by step.

Step 1: Cardigan

Both of these cardigans can be found at Asos.  The first cardigan retails for $135. A little pricey but the pattern is divine.  The second cardigan carries a price of $33.  Not a bad price for this nice looking cardigan.  I love it when they mix different hues of blue together.

Step 2: Jeans

The first pair of jeans(Levi's) is listed at $126, while the second pair(Diesel) hails at $270 .  Both jeans are provided via Asos.

Step 3: Shoes

The first pair of shoes kinda resembles Chuck's and oh how I love Chuck's (they make me all warm and fuzzy inside). This pair retails for $84. The second pair on the other hand is designed by the late Alexander McQueen for Puma, which retails for $219. I love the shade of purple, as it adds a splash of color to any basic wardrobe.

And there you have it! The perfect Drizzy Drake inspired outfit. Oh, I almost forgot the shoes are found over at Asos as well.

Till next time readers,

Saddle Up!

Hello there fellow style mavens,

I remember when I was little, and when we stayed at our old house. We had about six beautiful horses. Of course, we only rode one, and that was because he was tame, while the others pretty much grew up wild. However, they would let us feed them and touch them. My favorite horse was Pocahantas (I named her myself). She was a beautiful brown horse, and I always wanted to ride on her and trot along in true equestrian fashion. One day I will be able to do that.

That story no matter how romantic unfortunately has nothing to do with this post except for the word saddle. That's right you guessed it...

SADDLE SHOES!!! Yay!! I love saddle shoes. They take me back to a time where milkshakes were called malts, bowling alleys were the place to be, and guys rocked leather jackets like there was no tomorrow. *sigh* The New Look Period was undoubtedly chic.  Anywhoo, let me stop prattling on like a school girl. I found these classics over at Cole Haan for only $198. Of course being from Cole Haan it is made out of quality leather but also...

This fabulous beauty comes in brown. Magnificent!

So swing on over to Cole Haan and make some malt shop memories with these wardrobe staples.

White Heat

Greetings style mavens,

Back over at polyvore again creating a set.  This set was inspired by one of the timeless colors of summer: white.  It has always been a dream of mine to attend one of Diddy's famous white parties. (*sigh* only in my dreams) Anywhoo, if I were to be invited to said party, I would wear this cute little ensemble...

The blazer gives the outfit a sharp, sophisticated vibe.  The white shorts are true to my summer style, and the sandals again give an exotic feel to the set.  I absolutely am in love with the strawberry pendant.  With its white and gold color scheme, this pendant is deliciously chic.

Oh well, off to dream land.

Gracefully Insane

Why hello mavens of style,

Back again with an interesting set that I created over at Polyvore.  This set was inspired by my zany, quirky, and dare I say crazy self.  I just thought, "how amazing would it be to create an outfit inspired by insanity!"  Well, here it is.  An attempt to say the least...

As the name "Gracefully Insane" suggests, it is completely mental with a touch of civility.  Kind of Hannibal Lecter if you will.  The shirt has an ink blot test graphic and the cuff comes with lock and key charms.  The look is completed or "tied together" with a wrap cardigan made of bamboo(I LOVE bamboo!).  Normally, I would have went with a white cardigan to give this ensemble more of an insane edge, but I love this shade of blue.

Till next time, stay crazy about fashion!

Organix Shampoo

Greetings style mavens,

Today is about clean hair.  It is very important to have a clean and healthy scalp.  This leads to healthy hair and healthy hair is easy to manage, shiny, and more cooperative when it comes to styling it.  With that being said I was recommended this shampoo from a friend.

Organix Hydrating Teatree Mint Shampoo.  This shampoo left my hair feeling clean and had a very nice minty smell without being too overwhelming.  Price- $6.99 Mmmmm...mint

Remember a hairstyle can make or break an outfit, so it is important to keep your hair healthy and clean.
