Welcome to the Peacock Revolution

There is a war going on. A war against machoism. What is machoism? Machoism, as defined by myself, is the belief that in order to be a man in today's society one should be a dirty, grungy, obtuse, hairy, bare-knuckle dragging, neandertal. No more! I am declaring war on machoism. This blog will forge a revolution. A Peacock Revolution!

One to the Head

Greetings o' ye mavens of style,

So for this spring, I'm all about the boho boy. I definitely want to continue this by embarking upon a quest for the latest accessories that echo this feeling.

With that in mind, I decided to visit a couple of my storage compounds (websites) for some supplies (fashion accessories). I headed over to Forever 21 and found this adorable headband...

This floral cutie retails for only $7.80. Head on over to Forever21.com to check it out.

Next, I headed on over to Asos...

Simply gorgeous. I want this headband so bad! It is a Grecian style gold leaf 3 strand headband. (phew, that was a mouthful). Anywhoo, it only costs $13.79.

Very nice leaf detail. View it up close at ASOS.

This is a winged version and only costs $7.76.

Finally, I saw this beauty. It features a black jewel and a single peacock feather. For only $6.90, this one is a steal. Find this one and the above over at ASOS.com now.

It's a Tunic!...I think.

Greetings style mavens,

Not to long ago, I was browsing in Forever 21 for some new items to find for my spring/summer wardrobe.  As I searched through the mountains of clothes, I came across this awe-inspiring tunic that was on a mannequin.  I immeadiately began searching franticly around the store.  After searching for an hour, I asked an associate.  However, as always they weren't really any help.  I left the store disgruntled and angry.

A couple of days later, I came back to the store determined to rip the tunic off of the mannequin if they didn't have an extra in the store.  Again I searched and searched frantically for the tunic.  Finally, right as I asked an associate to help me, I spotted it there...on a rack full of random clothes...an extra!!  I hauled ass over to the rack, snatched it off, and dashed for the counter...

It's pretty long so I can easily see how some people may think it's a dress.  It just may be.  However, I'm pretty sure it's a tunic.

It features an incredible print that looks Aztec/peacock inspired.

Again, I decided to pair the tunic with stockings and shorts (hidden).  Everything was finished off with my boots. (I know yall are getting tired of looking at them...Sorry, I will try to find some other shoes)

I threw on a scarf and black beaded necklace to lend a middle eastern feel to the wardrobe.  It sounds like a lot of looks, but it blends perfectly together.

I am so glad that I was able to find this tunic.  I knew when I saw it on the mannequin that it would look phenomenal.

Spring Style Inspiration

Greetings mavens of style,

So even though it has been pretty freaking cold, it is now beginning to slowly warm up.  This got me thinking about what I plan on doing for my spring/summer wardrobe.  Hmm...

I decided to comb through the runway photos of Elle and GQ to see what I could find.  Without any disappointment, two collections stuck out to me.  The first was Alexis Mabille's Spr/Sum 2011 Menswear line...

This collection definitely echoed boho-chic.  The man's way.

Spring flowers adorned their hair, and the accessories were in full bloom featuring flower necklaces and bracelets.  Maybe I should find some small flowers to place in my hair.

Next was Anna Sui's Spr/Sum 2011 Women's wear collection...

Simply adorable.  Feather necklaces, psychedelic prints, and flower wreaths.  What more could you ask for when embodying the peace love atmosphere of the 70's?!

These boots remind me of my awesome pair of Cocconuts by Matisse brown boots that I am in love with.  Guess you know what that means.

I really am debating on whether or not to rock men's leggings.  However, I must say that a belted tunic paired with leggings and boots makes for a stellar combination.  Maybe just maybe I can pull it off.

Lightweight airy blouses, earthy cowboy boots, strappy sandals, and flower accessories.  This will definitely be a boho-boy chic spring and summer.

New Year's Party!

Greetings style mavens,

I trust everyone had a safe and wonderful New Year celebration!  I know I did.  A couple of my fellow coworkers threw a party.  I wanted to go, but I wasn't sure if I would be able to (seeing as how I had to work on New Year's Day!)  Fortunately, she stayed right across the street from work, so I decided to party the New Year in.  Needless to say, I had fun and looked super cute...

The party had a theme of sequins or bowties.  Of course me being me I opted for sequins.  The tunic is from Forever 21.  It is part of the Minnie Muse collection.  I thought "well I'm going to a party with people who work for Disney, if anyone will understand it they will".  The tunic is covered entirely by light pink sequins and the mickey head is made out of black sequins.

I didn't want to crop this picture because I love the way that I am off to the side.  It's kind of like I'm not the focus, but I actually am.

Tunic: Forever 21
Blazer: Gap
Shorts: Love Culture
Bangles: H&M
Stockings: Leg Avenue
Boots: Bucco

Boy did I have a phenomenal time.  I brought a couple of items with me, stayed overnight, and got up the next day and headed straight to work.  Fun times.
