Welcome to the Peacock Revolution

There is a war going on. A war against machoism. What is machoism? Machoism, as defined by myself, is the belief that in order to be a man in today's society one should be a dirty, grungy, obtuse, hairy, bare-knuckle dragging, neandertal. No more! I am declaring war on machoism. This blog will forge a revolution. A Peacock Revolution!

Legs for Days!

Greetings style gurus,

Pushing on in the spirit of boho, I decided that I need some high waist pants that have either a small flare or a grand flare.  So I hit the net to do some browsing and found some promising results...

Gap High Waisted Trousers- $60

Gap Perfect Trouser Pants- $60.
I could use a cute pair of white pants. Order them long for extra drama.

ASOS Zip Pleat Flare- $63.  These plum colored beauties are definitely interesting. I must have them!

ASOS Tailored Tab Side Wide Leg- $20

French Connection Palazzo Pants with Tie Belt- $170.
These pants are by far my favorite of the bunch.  The tie waist belt instantly tailors what would otherwise be a problematic area: the natural waist.

These pants will definitely give their wearer legs for days.  These pants are definitely good for people like me who have short legs and plenty of torso to give.

Red Boho-Boy

Greetings stylish mavens,

Recently, I enrolled in Bartending School to get my certification to tend bar.  This past weekend I completed the course and I am officially certified.  You know what that means.  Time to sling some drinks and look good doing it! LOL

Today, I threw together this cute little red number to run a couple of errands.  Including getting my card laminated.  So excited...

This is a beautiful red tunic that I picked up from Forever 21.  It is quintessentially boho-boy.

Continuing in the boho spirit, I paired the tunic with this chic pair of flare leg jeans.

I also added some silver accessories: a winged headband, a blue and silver necklace, and a cuff.

Headband: Asos
Tunic: Forever 21
Necklace: Forever 21
Cuff: Forever 21
Jeans: Forever 21

Peace and love baby,
Dismissed!!

Koopa Troopa

Hello stylish entities,

Recently, I have been spotting a lot of people wearing aviator sunglasses, or as I affectionately call them "troops".  Now troops come in and out of style frequently, and it is no surprise that they have come back.  There are no better shades that compliment the military trend that everyone has been going crazy over.  I, on the other hand, make it a point to always own a nice pair no matter if they are in or out of style.  I think of troops as classics.

Lately I have been in need of a new pair of these wonderful things so I took to the web to browse around...

Victoria Beckham 18-karat rose gold mirrored aviators. $775 http://www.net-a-porter.com/
My my these are lovely *sigh* if only.

A slightly less expensive alternative.  Gucci Leather-coated aviator sunglasses. $495 at http://www.net-a-porter.com/

Carrera Champion Aviators. $141 at asos.com

ASOS Faux Leather Trim Aviators. $27. At this price these lovelies are a steal!

Well I'm off to do some damage,

Ralph Lauren Fall 2011

Salutations mavens of style,

It has been quite a while since I covered runway collections.  I guess nothing really just caught my eye.  However, fall is around the corner and with that designers have already shown their fall collections.  First up is Ralph Lauren...

Now anyone who knows me, knows how much I hate suits. (They are for people who want to play it safe.)  However, the tailoring is extremely exquisite.  Very James Bond.

This is a pretty basic look.  However, when the basics are done right, they easily trump any of the fancy trends that come and go.

This motorcycle jacket is seriously giving me heart palpitations.  From the color to the cut, a jacket like this can last a lifetime.

I can definitely see myself sporting this classic combination in the coming fall.  Of course, I would have a much bigger bowtie, Monae style.

You know I'm always loving the paperboy look.

Very nice. For more of this collection head on over to GQ.com.
Till next time,
Dismissed!

Shanequa's 30th Bday!

Greetings my stylish friends,

On Friday, April 1 my lovely best friend and creator of FashionPad Shanequa turned 30.  Entering a new decade is a special occasion, so on Saturday, April 2 she threw a lavish event at the Gallery at Interlachen in scenic Winter Park, FL.

I unfortunately arrived late (truck wouldn't start), but when I got there I definitely had a good time.  We ate, drank (no alcohol  >:-(  ), and danced.  The birthday girl herself was clad in a stunning blue dress from BCBG Max Azria, sky-high black pumps, and these gorgeous earrings that were ridiculously long.  As for me...

I opted for a sophisticated-yet-subtle look.  A simple blazer belted with a scarf and jeans.

The birthday girl cuttin' a rug. Get it Noosie!! LOL

I didn't get many pics of her seeing as how I didn't bring my camera.  So, I had to use my phone.  Love the shade of that blue!

Look at the sheer length of those earrings.  They go on and on for miles.  As Shanequa would say-GEESH!

Dawanna and Dexter were in the place chic as ever.

Spreading the latest fashion gossip.

The event was ever so lovely. I bought the birthday girl a lovely and exotic scarf.
Happy Birthday Shanequa!
